Carlo Vialu, PT, MBA served as Director of Physical Therapy for the NYC Department of Education, where he oversaw a program with over 700 PTs working in more than 1,500 schools. He is project manager of research on normative data for five mobility tests for school-aged children, & co-founder of www.SeekFreaks.com.

 

Carly Matichak Stock, PT, DPT has had the pleasure of working in the realm of pediatrics, including school-based, multi-disciplinary clinics, research, outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation settings. She currently practices in the Harford County Public Schools in Bel Air, Maryland. Carly was a faculty mentor in the pediatric residency program at Kennedy Krieger Institute responsible for the school-based and muscular dystrophy components. Carly is passionate about forming meaningful relationships with children and families she serves and offering creative evidence-informed therapy services.

 

Jennifer Wissinger, PT, DPT, PCS serves early intervention and preschool children in Columbus, OH. She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric PT with over 15 years of experience practicing in public schools (preschool through high school), county board of developmental disability programs for adults, home health care, and early intervention. She enjoys engaging learners of all levels to use evidence and to work collaboratively in teams to serve children and their families.

      2. Determine 2 assessment tools that can be conducted via telehealth
      3. Identify 3 strategies to utilize to promote ADLs, play & leisure, education or other activities that are meaningful to the client
      4. Identify 3 reasons to use tests and measures in teletherapy practice
      5. Determine 2 tests & measures that are appropriate in teletherapy to yield the needs, interests and goals of your client
      6. Determine 3 tests & measures that are appropriate in teletherapy that measures the ability of your clients to perform ADLs, mobility, play, and other meaningful activities
      7. Identify 2 ways that family routine, environment and needs can affect the child’s participation in their education online
      8. Determine 2 strategies to maintain educational relevance in teletherapy
      9. Identify 2 evidence-based interventions that can be applied via teletherapy to assist the child in achieving their educational goals
      10. Distinguish one key characteristic of each step in the coaching cycle applied to a case example
      11. Differentiate an example of coaching from traditional patient education in a case application
      12. Select an intervention activity that fits within the coaching framework for planning a therapy session in a case example.

      • Pitfalls to Avoid – 11 minutes

Post-tests: 10-item multiple choice. 70% correct answers required to receive a certificate for each webinar.
