Congenital Muscular Torticollis and Plagiocephaly 2
Best Practices for Treatment In-Person and via Telehealth
There is an increase in the number of referrals of infants with congenital muscular torticollis (CMT) and plagiocephaly in the last 2 decades. What are the most effective interventions that therapists can provide?
In this webinar, Magda will demonstrate to you via photos and videos the first-choice interventions, from passive, functional, and positioning strategies, to the facilitation of symmetrical movement in daily activities. Magda will emphasize the importance of carryover via parent/caregiver education, support of good habits, and environmental adaptation. For more difficult cases, you will also learn about supplemental interventions with emerging evidence. Dosage, re-assessment, and telehealth strategies will also be shared. Finally, Magda will provide recommendations for when discharge from therapy services would be appropriate. Closed Captioned in English
PRE-REQUISITE: It is recommended that you first complete CMT and Plagiocephaly 1 – Assessment, unless you are already well-versed with assessment.
BONUS: PRACTICAL TOOLKIT – Resources: Websites, Must-reads and Handouts; Baby Warm-Up Exercises
