Focusing on Participation and Occupation
Tips & Strategies for Assessment, Goal Writing, & Interventions
Are your pediatric clients improving in the “therapy room”, but not in their real-life functions with their peers? Are they having difficulties generalizing their skills into different environments in the school and the community?
In this seminar, the instructor will describe how focusing on participation, not just as an outcome, but also as the therapeutic means, can be the key to your pediatric clients and you own’s successes. He will share 3 critical reasons for focusing on participation: to motivate children and youth, to be an effective therapist by delivering evidence-informed practices, and to adhere to the intent of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
The instructor will walk you through self-reflection questions and strategies discussions to improve your skills from assessment to interventions. You will learn about assessment tools for participation that can yield the real-life needs of your clients. You will gain tips to ensure that you are establishing client goals that are participation-based. The instructor will then summarize the latest research on the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for various health conditions and provide you with Questions and Solutions to elevate your interventions towards participation.
Leave the course with concrete tools and strategies you can use the very next day, from assessment to goal writing, and interventions! Closed Captioned in English!
